Dekel Infrastructure Wins Tender for New Waste Sorting Facility at Hiriya Recycling Park
Dekel Infrastructure, a subsidiary of BlueGen Ltd. and YSB Group, has been awarded a tender to construct and operate a state-of-the-art municipal solid waste sorting facility at Hiriya Recycling Park. This new facility is designed to process 1,300 tons of waste daily, accounting for approximately 43% of the waste generated by the city of Tel Aviv.
The project represents a significant milestone in the transformation of Hiriya, once one of Israel’s largest landfills, into a modern recycling hub. Over the next 10 years, Dekel Infrastructure will manage the operations of the facility, with a focus on recycling 150,000 tons of waste annually. The facility will employ advanced optical sorting technology to improve waste management efficiency and reduce landfill use.
This initiative is seen as a crucial step in upgrading Israel’s waste management systems to align with European environmental standards. The project is part of a broader effort to promote sustainability and reduce environmental impact in the region.
