DACS®
(Downflow Anaerobic
Carrier System)
Anaerobic biological treatment is a highly effective method for treating heavily loaded wastewater in large-scale industrial applications, particularly in the Food & Beverage and Pulp & Paper markets. This process converts wastewater into biogas with low excess sludge, making it a cost-effective solution.
DACS® (Downflow Anaerobic Carrier System) is a patented high-rate anaerobic process that utilizes BlueGen Water’s Biomass Carriers in a unique hydraulic pattern, resulting in a flexible design and stable performance. The use of downflow distribution of wastewater onto BlueGen Water’s Biomass Carriers as media for anaerobic bacterial attachment is the main advantage of this technology, resulting in a smaller footprint, a more robust process, and superior performance compared to conventional anaerobic systems. Furthermore, this approach enables clients to use readily available tanks of various shapes and materials, as well as the ability to retrofit existing reactors into an anaerobic process, improving their return on investment. DACS® requires no air/oxygen supply, converts wastewater into biogas, and is a highly cost-effective, robust, and green solution with reduced energy consumption.
