Transforming Wastewater into Resource
Overview: Bazan oil refinery, Israel’s largest petrochemical producer, required a retrofit of an existing effluent reuse facility to meet strict environmental standards for treating 15,600 m³/d of industrial wastewater.
BlueGen Water Solution: implementation of an integrated Airlift MBR + RO + EDI system on wastewater, producing high-quality demineralized water for use in cooling towers and boilers, contributing to a circular economy.
Bluegen Water expanded the production capacity within its current footprint and infrastructure, thereby minimizing both costs and disruptions to the ongoing plant operations.
Replaced the conventional Ultrafiltration (UF) system with an advanced Airlift MBR, enhancing treatment effectiveness and reliability.
Refining water quality by adding a biological polishing step to the RO concentrate.
Achieved a 2.5 times concentration of impurities in the effluent, alongside a 60% process recovery rate using an efficient wastewater management system.
